Miss Dee. 22 years old, Australian, strata manager.

Meet Miss Dee, the beautiful 22 year old Assistant Strata Manager from Australia. This kick-arse babe talks about Depression, Anxiety and how learning Pole Dance is allowing her to be proud of her body.

How long have you been Pole Dancing?
I have been Pole Dancing for approximately eight months.

Did you feel nervous before your first lesson?
Yes I was, but the ladies from Sky Sirens are so welcoming and supportive that it makes it a lot easier to feel comfortable.

What obstacles have you faced as a result of  Depression and Anxiety? How has this impacted on your self-love and body image?
Being a long time sufferer of Depression and Anxiety I have always been very self-conscious about everything. It has affected my confidence and left me feeling unsure about myself. Self-love is something I am still working on, but I am learning to be proud of what my body can do.

How does Pole Dancing make you feel?
Knowing that each week you are getting stronger. Looking back a few months ago and not being able to do what I can now, makes me feel awesome! There is a sense of accomplishment when you nail a new move!

What do you enjoy most about coming to class?
I enjoy going to classes not only for the fitness aspect but for the support and encouragement I get from both the instructors and other students. When everyone is super friendly and helpful, it makes learning new things a lot easier!

How would you define Self-Love?
Accepting and being happy with yourself regardless of society's opinion. It's about being confident and comfortable in your own skin and having a positive outlook on life.

What is your most beautiful physical feature, and why?
My most beautiful feature is my smile, I get a lot of compliments about it and I’ve been told it lights up the room.

What advice would you give a Pole virgin who was nervous about signing up?
Do it - you will not regret it! Although it may feel daunting, it's a lot of fun and the Adrenalin from performing at Nightcap is awesome.
