Introduce yourself.

My name is Steph and my pronouns are she/they.

How long have you been a student at Sky Sirens? What do you do here?

I have been a Siren student for almost 2 years now. I started out in Aerial Sling, but dabbled in almost everything! At the moment, my main apparatus is Lyra!

What do you identify as within the LGBTQIA+ community?

I identify as Queer.

I realised that I liked girls more than I liked boys when I was super young - but I suppressed those feelings until after high school.

I actually didn’t date anyone at all during high school. It was only when I was around 18 years old that I really explored my sexuality and realised that I was Queer.

Since I started aerials and dance, I have felt more connected to my body and the way I express myself. Through my dance and aerial journey, I have become more confident in expressing the more sensual and feminine parts of myself, and that, in turn, has also improved my confidence.

I also think that being part of a community that is so inclusive and diverse has helped me feel more comfortable expressing my identity.
